WARREN GRAY: DIRECTOR & PRODUCER
With more than 25 years of hands-on experience in international feature filmmaking and high-end episodic drama, Warren Gray brings a profound, architecture-grounded visual intelligence to the director's chair and producer's desk.
Having originated in industrial design before transitioning into physical cinema, Warren has supervised and executed massive soundstage builds, intricate historical reconstructions, and hostile location logistics for global studios including Netflix, Saban Films, Amazon Prime, and the BBC.
In 2024, Warren received the prestigious Daytime Emmy® Award for Outstanding Art Direction, Set Decoration, and Scenic Design for Netflix's docudrama series African Queens: Njinga (produced by Westbrook Studios and Nutopia). In the same year, his immersive, psychological world-building on Catch Me a Killer (Fired Up Films / M-Net / BritBox) earned him the British Film Designers Guild (BFDG) Award and the SAFTA Award for Best Achievement in Production Design.
As a producer, Warren served as Co-Producer and Creative & Production Design Consultant on The Trek (2026), an atmospheric 1846 Kalahari western-horror directed by Meekaeel Adam and produced by James C. Williamson. On the production, Warren consulted on creative direction and production design, spearheaded the hiring of key South African crew (across production, art, costume, makeup, SFX, grips, rigging, and animal wrangling), and brokered the distribution partnership with Amazon Prime as the film's first official streamer. The film earned the Jury's Special Award at Fantasporto and screened at Lincoln Center's Scary Movies XIV, Shanghai, and Raindance.
As a director, Warren Gray synthesizes his unmatched command of physical production, tension, lighting, and texture to create visceral, character-driven genre narratives that treat environment and atmosphere as active narrative forces.
